Mirvac Partners with Westmead Childrens Hospital this Easter
Mirvac has long supported The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the incredible work they do to provide the best possible care for children. The Hospital is the largest paediatric centre in NSW specialising in treating seriously ill children with over 4,400 staff caring for more than 80,000 sick children and their families every year. This includes around 32,000 admissions, 59,000 emergency department presentations and more than 688,000 outpatient visits.
This year we have shown our support by helping with their Teddy Bear Clinic at The Royal Easter Show. The Teddy Bear Clinic has been designed so that kids (and adults) can experience for themselves some of the aspects involved in being treated at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Children can bring along their teddy bear, or any other toy, to visit the Emergency department where teddy will have a physical examination, followed by a scan in the MRI machine (there are even headphones to experience the sounds the MRI machine makes!). Overall, kids will leave with a bit more knowledge of what a hospital visit involves, and hopefully a bit less fear as they know what to expect.
Mirvac Teams across Development, Design, Construction, Des+Pres and Marketing have been involved in seeing the vision for the stand come to life – all the way from the designing the MRI beds through to construction of the entire stand. The incredible result would not be possible without the support of some of our amazing suppliers including Red Robbin Kitchens and Novak Signs.
If you are heading to Easter Show, make sure you check out the Children’s Hospital stall – don’t forget to take your teddy with you!
