With expansive views of the Melbourne city skyline, leafy Point Park and Yarra River, Mirvac’s Yarra Point tower at its award winning precinct Yarra’s Edge, has been named the Australian Apartment Complex of the year at the 2015 HIA CSR National Housing awards.
The national accolade comes after winning the best apartment complex at the Victorian awards in November last year.
Acknowledging excellence in construction, design and innovation, the award recognises industry professionals who plan and construct quality new developments, with Yarra Point setting a strong example of the calibre expected from winners of this prestigious award, one of the highest honours within the residential builders industry.
Yarra Point is Mirvac’s sixth apartment tower to be built at Yarra’s Edge in Melbourne’s Docklands and features 201 apartments over 31 levels. Design excellence is evident in each of the residences that were crafted by Mirvac’s in-house architects, Mirvac Design.
Mirvac’s Group Executive, Residential, John Carfi, said the HIA CSR Apartment Complex award recognised the intelligence of Yarra Point’s design.
“This national award is fantastic recognition of Yarra Point’s intelligent north facing design as well as the success of the entire Yarra’s Edge precinct, which offers Melbourne’s best waterside lifestyle, just minutes from the CBD,” he said.
In addition to spacious floor plans, Yarra Point residents also enjoy exclusive access to a 300 square metre rooftop herb garden complete with BBQ facilities, residents’ lounge, gym and business centre as well as a two-level lobby that features mature trees, a garden of succulent plantings and bluestone pavers that extends from the adjacent park into the building’s inner sanctum.
The building is part of the wider Yarra’s Edge precinct, where Mirvac unveiled the latest chapter of the multi-stage project in September last year. Wharf’s Entrance will further activate the precinct with Forge, a 228 apartment tower over 30 levels; 11 luxury riverfront Wharfside Residences and seven Cargo home offices.
